| Patrick's UK move on hold |

Patrick Dempsey has put plans to move to the UK on hold because of the current state of the American economy. The Grey's Anatomy star wanted to buy a property in the English countryside after a holiday last year but has now had a change of heart. He said he may settle for purchasing a holiday home as a getaway for himself, wife Jillian Fink and their children Tallulah, six, and one-year-old twin sons Darby and Sullivan. Contactmusic quotes him as saying: "I would love to live here. But I think I will have to wait for the American dollar to get stronger. "A holiday place would be perfect, but to bring my kids up here would be ideal." |

Patrick Dempsey plays Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd in TV's Grey's Anatomy and he has hoards of female fans. Fortunately make-up artist wife Jill isn't bothered that so many women think he's hot. 'She teases me, but she's cool about the situation,' says Patrick, 42. 'Fans yell "McDreamy" at me in the street. She just thinks it's funny.' Patrick is dad to daughter Tallulah, 5, and 1-year-old twin sons Darby and Sullivan. 'I like going home and having my life,' he admits. 'I don't need to be a superstar, I'm just happy to have a job. It's fun to escape reality before I go back and change diapers. 'I got home to projectile vomiting last week – the whole house smelled of vomit. But I really love fatherhood. There's something really comforting about a house full of people and kids. 'It's the one thing that keeps me sane in all the craziness.' |

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is to be the face of Avon's new male fragrance. The 42-year-old will direct and front the cosmetic firm's latest campaign in a three-year deal said to be worth £2.5 million. The new scent will launch in the US in November and worldwide next year. Avon's Andrea Jung said: "We are thrilled to partner with Patrick Dempsey - an incredibly accomplished actor who has achieved such broad appeal because of his genuine authenticity, charisma and style. "We're extremely impressed with both his on- and off-screen accomplishments, and have a shared commitment to giving back to communities in ways both big and small." Dempsey added: "This is an extremely exciting opportunity for me to work with Avon - a brand I have long respected as a global powerhouse with a lot of heart and soul." The actor's wife Jillian has worked as the company's global creative colour director since 2006. Dempsey plays neurosurgeon Derek "Dr McDreamy" Shepherd in the hit US medical drama. He recently donated £125,000 to fund a cancer centre at the hospital where he was born. |
